No, it should not hurt. Most people feel only a light suction sensation and hear the sound of the device. It is far gentler than ear syringing, and there is no water and no pressure. If anything is uncomfortable, we simply pause.

Usually 10 to 15 minutes for both ears. Very stubborn or hardened wax can take a little longer, or occasionally a second visit after some softening drops.

It helps but is not always essential. Using a few drops of olive or almond oil for three to five days beforehand softens the wax and makes removal quicker. If you have not, still come in, we will assess on the day.

Yes, and it is one of the most common reasons people book. Wax builds up around hearing aid moulds and causes whistling and muffling. We clear it gently so your aids fit and work properly again.
