Everything for your pilgrimage, in one visit
Oldham has one of the largest Muslim communities in Greater Manchester, and every year many local families prepare for the journey to Makkah for Hajj or Umrah. Getting the vaccinations right is an important part of that preparation, because the meningitis ACWY jab and its certificate are a firm requirement of the Saudi visa.
Our clinic on Featherstall Road North brings it all together in one visit. We give the required MenACWY vaccine and certificate the same day, advise on flu, hepatitis A, typhoid and polio, and do it all with no GP referral and free parking on-site, close to home.
Hajj and Umrah vaccinations in Oldham
Preparing for Hajj or Umrah means getting your vaccinations and paperwork in order before you apply for your visa, and it helps to do it all in one place. At Oldham Clinic on Featherstall Road North we look after pilgrims from across the area, giving the required meningitis ACWY vaccine, issuing the certificate the same day, and providing the other jabs that are commonly recommended for the journey. There is no GP referral to arrange, and we understand the Saudi requirements, so you leave with everything you need.
The required MenACWY vaccine and certificate
The Saudi authorities make the meningitis ACWY vaccine mandatory for a Hajj or Umrah visa. It must have been given at least ten days before you arrive and within the previous five years, and you need a certificate as proof. We give the MenACWY vaccine, usually the Menveo brand used for pilgrimage, and issue your signed certificate on the same day, so this key part of your visa application is sorted in a single visit. If you had the vaccine more than five years ago, you will need it again, and we will check the dates with you.
Other vaccines recommended for pilgrims
Hajj and Umrah bring large crowds together from all over the world, which makes a few other vaccines well worth considering. Seasonal flu is commonly recommended because respiratory infections spread easily in crowds, and hepatitis A and typhoid are sensible given the shared food and water. Some countries also require proof of polio vaccination for travellers, so it is worth checking your status. We will talk through your history and your plans, and give whatever is suitable at the same appointment so you are not making repeat trips. See our booking page for current prices.
